What We Believe

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, only infallible, authoritative Word of God. We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons: The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious death and the atonement provided by His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, and His promised personal return in power and glory. We believe in the resurrection of the saved to eternal life, and the everlasting punishment of those who have rejected God’s forgiveness through His Son.

Jesus Christ is God the Son, the second person of the Trinity. Jesus is 100% God and 100% man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and died on the cross for all mankind. He redeems us from the debt of our sins through His shed blood. He rose from the dead according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory. (John 1:1,14, 20:28; I Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Philippians 2:5-6; I Timothy 2:5). (John 3:16; Hebrews 1:1-8; 10:7-13)

We Believe that Israel is the Holy land promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. We believe Jerusalem is the city of God and is the capitol of Israel. We believe that whoever blesses Israel, the seed of Abraham, will be blessed.

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit manifests Himself through a variety of spiritual gifts to build & equip the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and to confirm the power of the Gospel. The Bible’s list of these gifts are not necessarily exhaustive, and they may occur in various combinations. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of biblical parameters. (Hebrews 2:4; Romans 1:11; 12:4-8; Ephesians 4:16; 2 Timothy 1:5-6; 1 Timothy 4:14; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, 14:1-40; 1 Peter 4:10-11)

We Believe in the Rapture

We believe in the rapture, that the dead in Christ will rise first and that those that are alive and remain shall be caught up to meet Jesus in the air. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

The Baptism of the Spirit

Given at Pentecost, it is the promise of the Father, sent by Jesus after His Ascension, to empower the Church to preach the Gospel throughout the whole earth. (Joel 2:28-29; Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17; Acts 1:5; 2:1-4, 17, 38-39, 8:14-17; 10:38, 44-47; 11:15-17; 19:1-6)

Water Baptism

We believe in water baptism in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit – we believe the name that represents the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is the Name of Jesus. Baptism represents the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We believe that water baptism is an ordinance to be followed upon belief and is not necessary for salvation. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:38; 8:12, 35-37; 10:47-48, Romans 6:4; 1 Corinthians 1:17)

Trinity

There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and co-eternal (Genesis 1:26; Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 3:7-11; John 14:9-11; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

Heaven and Hell

We believe in a literal heaven and a literal hell. We believe that after death eternal life begins either in heaven or in hell; where one spends eternity is based on their decision to accept or reject Jesus and His Word. We believe Jesus died for all mankind, and that the gift of salvation is offered to all. Salvation is by faith through grace and not by works. (Romans 10:9; John 5:24; Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16; Titus 3:5, 1 Timothy 2:4-6.)

Faith

We believe that the just shall live by faith and that faith is the victory over the world. We believe that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. (Romans 1:17, 1 John 5:4, Romans 10:17)

Sanctity of Human Life

We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life. (Ps 139.)

Marriage and Sexuality

We believe that term “marriage” has only one meaning and that is marriage sanctioned by God which joins one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to only occur between a man and a woman who are married to each other. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.
We believe that any form of sexual immorality, such as adultery, fornication, homosexuality, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, pornography or any attempt to change one’s sex, or disagreement with one’s biological sex, is sinful and offensive to God.
We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of the church.

Foundation

We believe that Jesus is the manifested Word of God. (John 1:1, 14, 1 John 5:7, Matthew 24:35) We believe that the born-again believer should live by hearing, meditating, confessing and acting on the Word of God. This is the process of faith that brings victory into the lives of God’s people. (Isaiah 34:16, John 15:7, Mark 16:20)

____My Testimony____

When I was 16 years old, I was “baptized”. I didn’t understand that there was a change in someone’s heart in order to be saved. What I saw in my life was people lived a “normal” life, read their Bible sometimes, and went to church on Sundays. They would say anytime a problem occurred in my life, “pray about it”. So I would pray, but I never heard anything speaking back about the problems. If the problem was eventually solved it was often so long after I prayed or in such a different say than I expected that I just knew God never heard my prayers. For many years, I continued in this way of life. When I read the Bible, I knew that the Bible was true. At school we were taught the earth was billions of years old. The Bible didn’t say that it wasn’t,at least not that I was taught. School taught that dinosaurs lived before people, the Bible didn’t specifically say that it wasn’t true, at least not that I was taught. I was taught Jesus died on the cross in Sunday school, by my aunts, I believed that. I have never doubted that God was real. Even though, I verbally stated “There is no God” at the age of 12, a very sad time in my life after the death of my dad, I still never really doubted that God was real and that Jesus died on the cross. But, God didn’t hear my prayers. If something fairly serious would be going on, I would call my mom and ask her to pray, because God couldn’t hear me. Even though I would still try to pray. If it was even too serious and needed someone closer to God than my mom, I told her to call Grandma. Have Grandma pray, because surely God heard her. I would make mom promise to tell Grandma to pray, because God couldn’t hear mom on more serious stuff. This is where I lived from 1988 it 2012 or 2013. That was when I decided to try to read my Bible every few days or at least once a week. I would sit for hours reading scripture. I know what I was taught about what I read, so I thought I was understanding the Bible. Then I got to Matthew 24:15. In that passage it says “spoken of by Daniel the prophet, (let the reader understand). So, I went to the book of Daniel. I read the entire book of Daniel. When I got to Daniel 12:10 “Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.” Well there it was. God just told me because I didn’t understand everything in the Bible, I didn’t understand many books of the Bible, that I was too wicked. I was one of those people that could never go to heaven. I was broken. That, those words, broke my heart. I could never be good enough, there was nothing I could do for God to hear me. My heart was now broken. All the years I struggled to try to pray, all those years I asked God to help me, this was it, He just told me I was too wicked. I would never understand. But something happened in that moment. I had just realized my biggest fear. I can’t put into words what happened, but in the days that followed, I didn’t stop reading my bible. It is almost as if God told me in my brokenness I was able to be saved. Because of my brokenness He would save me. That started a new road for me. There was a revival that a lady I worked with, her and her church, were going to have. I decided I was going even if I had to go alone. I went alone. The guest preacher who spoke, I can’t remember what he even preached on, but I remember that I felt something stir inside me. At the time, I had no idea what it was but I knew when he gave that alter call I had to get to the alter that night right then. I gave my entire family, including myself, to the Lord that night. I didn’t want any of them to go to Hell. I knew Hell was a very real place. Tearfully, I went to the alter. Many gathered around me that night and prayed for me. That’s when I realized what it meant to be Humble. What humbling yourself before God was. It is brokenness. It is when realize that you were right all of your life. YOU can never be good enough. There is nothing YOU could ever do to be saved, that’s when God Himself reaches down and indwells you with His Holy Spirit. It is being broken. From that moment on I tried to learn more. I watched preachers on T.V. Although for a time I continued in sin, because I was being taught. But God (the Holy Spirit) continued to teach me. I began to learn what was really sin. I began to try to remove each thing from my life with His help. As He very gently taught me and I tried to share with my family, we found a church to attend. We were baptized June 29, 2014. As we attended church, the preacher began to leave us behind. He was putting too much meat not enough milk. But God in His Gloriousness, did not let go of me. We continued to study the Bible. We started our own Bible study. We found the milk that we were starving for. The Holy Spirit taught us the Bible passages that we read. I finally could read the Bible, and know that people who said each time you read you will see something new. God continued to minister to us through the Spirit. I have much more to learn, but what I know, is I have to tell people it is NEVER too late. God will reach down with His Holy Hand through His Holy Spirit, IF you are willing to leave your pride and finally understand He saves you through the broken heart. I do not want anyone to live where I live for too many years. If you are living this, Go to Him with your brokenness, Humble yourself, and He will save you, too. I hear many people say, oh if I could have lived when Paul lived, if only I could have seen Jesus when He walked on this earth. I no longer say that. I was born at this time, because maybe you are reading this because you are walking the shoes that I walked. Maybe I was born at this time, because God is making Himself known through my story to you. Don’t wait. You may not have tomorrow.
